Conference Sponsored by the Mozart Society of America and the Santa Fe 
Oper celebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth, the 50th 
anniversary of the founding of the Santa Fe Opera, and the 10th 
anniversary of the founding of the Mozart Society of America
29 June - 1 July 2006, Santa Fe, New Mexico

This three-day conference will center around Die Zauberflöte, scheduled 
to be performed by the Santa Fe Opera on Saturday, 1 July. In addition 
to a keynote address, three paper sessions, and a panel presentation by 
music and stage directors of Mozart’s operas, registrants will be guests 
for a tour of the Santa Fe Opera, and will attend the dress rehearsal 
and opening night performance of Die Zauberflöte.

Papers may address any aspect of the composition, reception, and 
performance traditions of Die Zauberflöte, and should be of two types: 
general interest aimed at a wide audience of Mozart scholars, students, 
performers, and aficionados (sessions 1 and 3) and scholarly research 
for Mozart specialists as well as the wider audience (session 2).
