verba do MinC e para, desde já, manifestar publicamente a urgente necessidade de
aumento do orçamento para a Cultura, artistas de todo o país marcaram para o dia
10 de agosto a realização um movimento chamado <B><SPAN
style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">DIA NACIONAL DO ABAIXO ASSINADO EM DEFESA DA CULTURA
BRASILEIRA</SPAN></B>. Neste dia, em diversas cidades será realizado evento
com o objetivo de recolher assinaturas da população, reiterando a necessidade do
Congresso aprovar um aumento da verba da Cultura para 2% do orçamento da
União.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>

Villela, além de vários outros artistas conhecidos do público que falarão em
apoio ao movimento, enquanto serão coletadas as assinaturas para o abaixo
assinado que reivindica 2% para a Cultura. O objetivo é coletar 1 milhão de
assinaturas para levá-las ao Congresso Nacional.</SPAN></FONT></P>

Federal contingenciou o orçamento de vários Ministérios, entre eles o do
Ministério da Cultura. Esta é uma prática comum e vários governos vêm aplicando
esta estratégia com o objetivo de diminuir despesas; mas desta vez, a área da
cultura foi uma das mais atingidas. A Funarte deveria ter lançado no primeiro
semestre deste ano: um edital importantíssimo para movimentar a atividade
teatral brasileira, e o adiamento deste (ou ainda pior, a possibilidade do
edital não ser lançado) foi o sinal para que a classe artística
se mobilizasse contra o contingenciamento.<o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>

verbas destinadas aos ministérios: apenas 0,34% do orçamento da União.
Entretanto, com o contingenciamento, apenas 0,19% do orçamento geral foi
liberado. Com isto, mais de 70 programas públicos, em diversas áreas, estão
paralisados. <o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></P>

e abrangência. Os editais contemplariam desde a pesquisa para montagem de
espetáculos e manutenção de grupos até o fomento à produção de novos
espetáculos. Entretanto, com o contingenciamento, estes editais estão
