<p style="color: rgb(0, 0, 102);">
Martha Ulhôa is a distinguished scholar of popular Brazilian
music. She is currently Professor of Musicology at the Universidade
Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), where she teaches courses
on Western Music History, Popular Music Analyses, and Musicology .

<p style="color: rgb(0, 0, 102);">
Martha Ulhôa will be a Visiting Senior Research Fellow in
the Department of Music at King's from May 2011 - February 2012. During
her stay she will be working on a project on recordings in consultation
with Daniel Leech-Wilkinson (Music) and David Treece (Spanish,
Portugese & Brazilian Studies) and writing a book on the earliest
acoustic recordings of popular Brazilian music.
