writers of his time, is an appropriate figure through which to examine
"romantic inspiration". What kinds of social, literary or musical
sources influenced or inspired his work? How did he use or adapt them? How did
he respond to politics, and to other cultures, including European, North
American and Oriental? How did his own work inspire others' creative
efforts? How did he inspire his readers or auditors?</span></div>

are sought by 1 October 2013. Selected proposals will be developed into
5000-word essays by 10 January 2015, for inclusion in a peer-reviewed volume to
be edited by Brian Caraher and Sarah McCleave of Queen's University Belfast,
with an introductory essay by Harry White.</span></div>
