<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">This Discography is the product of more than a decade of research in
the archives of major recording companies in the United States, Western
and Central Europe, principally but not exclusively concentrating on the
“LP” era from 1950 to 1979. Because documents for many other record
companies active during this period have been lost, the compiler has
turned to a variety of sources, including library catalogues, dealers’
lists, and other sources in order to document this. In spite of this
limitation, inclusion of labels from the LP era aims eventually for
comprehensiveness.<p>For discs recorded before 1950, emphasis has
been on the period after 1932, and within that period, on recordings not
previously documented in the discographic literature. Because records
made acoustically before 1925 have been the subject of many previous
discographies, both on paper and online, this category of recordings has
assumed a lower priority, with the exception of files of the principal
labels of Lindström group, which have been included, and Italian-related
records from the De Bellis collection at San Francisco State
University, whose documentation appears here. Links have been made to
sites that otherwise document this period.</p><p>The compiler wishes to
thank the staff of all the institutions, companies and organizations
whose hospitality and generosity have made this still on-going work
possible. Four persons in particular were exceptionally generous in
their contributions: Malcolm Walker and the late Tom Peel in the United
Kingdom for providing invaluable information on EMI group recordings;
Kevin Mostyn in California for urging the compiler to do a ‘real’
database, and providing the expertise and assistance to make it
possible; Ivor Humphreys in the United Kingdom for more than generously –
and miraculously – making it possible for this data to be born online
at last.</p><p>The compiler solicits both additions and corrections,
particularly for entries that are not yet complete. These may be sent
via the webform on the Contact page. May all who visit enjoy their
experience.</p><p>Michael Gray<br>January 2015</p><p><a href="http://classical-discography.org/">http://classical-discography.org/</a><br></p></div>-- <br><div class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div>carlos palombini<br>professor de musicologia ufmg<br>professor colaborador ppgm-unirio<br><a href="http://goo.gl/KMV98I" target="_blank">ufmg.academia.edu/CarlosPalombini</a><br></div><div><a href="http://www.researchgate.net/profile/Carlos_Palombini2" target="_blank">www.researchgate.net/profile/Carlos_Palombini2</a><br></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div></div></div></div></div>
