das idéias e mensagens principais de uma obra cênica, por parte dos
profissionais de iluminação. Esses estudos fazem parte da etapa de pesquisa que
os designers devem empreender e que irão desembocar e contribuir com o processo

o designer “reforce” essas idéias através de manipulações da linguagem visual da

importante para identificação por parte do público. E o que é mais importante?
Há vários fatores que intervêm no que diz respeito à luz: a cor, a direção, o
sentido. São fatores determinantes, tanto do ponto de vista de quem faz, como de
quem vê. As inúmeras combinações que podem ser feitas a partir destas variáveis
(e suas variações internas), permitem diferenciar um efeito do outro e obter

desenvolvimento das cenas, o diretor e os atores se empenham em transmitir
determinadas idéias que determinarão os níveis emocionais do público. A
iluminação trabalha sobre esses complexos contextos criados a partir dos textos
ou roteiros e direcionados pelo diretor, coreógrafo, encenador, etc. do
espetáculo. O designer de iluminação precisa “conhecer” essas profundas
intenções e transformá-las em linguagem visual dentro desse contexto. Para isso,
ele deve também ter em mente que todos os elementos dispostos sob a luz serão
afetados não só fisicamente como também simbolicamente, pois, alterações físicas
determinam alterações de leituras por parte dos espectadores e, à medida que o
designer domina essa linguagem, consegue agregar sentimentos e sensações à
materialidade. O domínio dessa linguagem passa pelo fato de que cada minúcia
empregada na distribuição das propriedades da luz nas cenas, sobre cenários,
atores e elementos, etc, construirão determinantes dessa linguagem. E

dois aspectos devem ser levados em conta: o que é diferencial na luz e o que é
redundante. Representar uma sala com uma geral</FONT><A title=""

branca difusa é representar uma sala qualquer, e não especificamente aquela sala
que o texto pede. O diferenciador está no conjunto, na linearidade, no aspecto
difuso. Isso é o elemento redundante da luz, que ao invés de diferenciar acaba
igualando. O elemento propriamente diferencial, marcante, aparece nas curvas,
nos cantos, nas dobras, nos pontos de mudanças das superfícies e obviamente nas
sombras. São detalhes muito sutis, estritamente ligados ao cenário, mas que têm
a maior importância no processo da caracterização. Alguns conhecimentos de
arquitetura, decoração, design e iluminação de interiores podem auxiliar

iluminação se utilize dessa linguagem com eficácia, deve acima de tudo conhecer
as íntimas intenções subjetivas dos dirigentes e criadores das cenas. São eles
que “orientam” e “dirigem” de que forma as cenas serão realizadas e mostradas
para atingir os sentidos físicos e, portanto, os sentidos emocionais do
