The relevance of the oral cavity in the transmission and pathogenecity of

saliva, the role of dental aerosols or the impact of periodontitis are
under scientific evaluation. All these factors have made dentistry one of
the most relevant disciplines in the COVID-pandemic.

*LEARNING OBJECTIVES:*

   - To understand the role of saliva in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and
its possible relevance in diagnostic tests.
   - To explore the evidence supporting the association between
   periodontitis and COVID-19 severity.
   - To assess the role of aerosols in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2; To
evaluate if oral health professionals are more likely to be exposed to
   COVID-19.
