Lecturer in Music

DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC
Applications are invited for the confirmation path position of Lecturer in
Music in the Department of Music, School of Language, Literature and
Performing Arts. The appointee will have expertise in the area of
musicology, particularly in music of the twentieth century (western popular
and/or western art music).

The Department of Music offers degrees specialising in music performance
(contemporary popular music and western art music), composition,
ethnomusicology and musicology, as well as postgraduate studies. A
completed, or near to submission, PhD is required, and the successful
candidate is also likely to be able to give evidence of scholarly
publication. Applicants are invited to display their ability to teach
effectively in two or more of the following areas (without excluding other
areas of expertise): analysis and history of twentieth-century western art
music, analysis and history of western popular music, composition and
songwriting.
