Dear friends at Musikeion,

This week I got my copy of the latest book of the Acta Semiotica Fennica
series. It is a lengthy edition, in two volumes, 912 pages! This new
important item in our area of musical semiotics is titled " Music and the
Arts" and features papers of the 7th International Congress on Musical
Signification, held in Imatra, Finland, June 10-15, 2001.

I was one of the participants and volume 1 brings my article: "On the
intersemiosis between music and dance in the Kathak tradition of India" (see
page 333). This is a paper reflecting my findings in fieldwork in India
during 2000-2001. The edition was done carefully and I received from the
editors my blueprint in New Delhi (I was again fieldworking), January this
year, and worked with Paul and Richard a few details. The publishing result
is perfect!

The congress was a great success, almost 150 papers, with a variety of
themes, methodologies and high level discussions. The just published volumes
must also be so.

Thanks to Eero Tarasti and associated editors Paul Forsell and Richard
Littlefield for this new important publication.

Cheers!
Martinez

P.S. Below I compiled all authors and titles published in the two volumes.
Have fun!
