Claremont Graduate University is resuming publication of the refereed
music journal, Performance Practice Review. As many of you already are
aware, PPR
was published bi-annually from 1988 to 1997, with Roland Jackson serving as
Editor. (All back-issues will be made available online in the coming
months.) PPR's former Advisory Board included Barry S. Brook, Martin
Chusid, Albert Cohen, Malcolm Cole, Philip Gossett, George Houle, Barton
Hudson, Mark Lindley, Frederick Neumann, Gilbert Reaney, Colin Slim,
Barbara B. Smith, Leonard Stein, Robert Stevenson, and Hendrik van der Werf,
and there is a very long list of distinguished contributors as well (see
below).

Performance Practice Review, in its new guise, will make full use of today's
technology by appearing exclusively online and posting new items
individually, on a continuous basis, after acceptance and preparation for
dissemination. The scope of the journal is not confined to any historical
period. I serve as Editor, and the new Advisory Board includes:

Charles Atkinson (Ohio State University)
Julianne Baird (Rutgers University)
Clive Brown (University of Leeds)
Anna Maria Busse Berger (University of California, Davis)
Richard Crocker (University of California, Berkeley)
Mary Cyr (University of Guelph)
Ellen Harris (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
Rebecca Harris-Warrick (Cornell University)
Roland Jackson (Claremont Graduate University)
Theodore Karp (Northwestern University)
Ton Koopman (Royal Conservatory, The Hague)
Rudolf Rasch (Utrecht University)
Elaine Sisman (Columbia University)
James Tyler (University of Southern California)
Melvin Unger (Baldwin-Wallace College)

I write today to request submissions for Volume 11 (2006). Potential
contributors should contact me by E-mail for PPR's guidelines. PPR accepts
published materials, which may be sent to me at the address given below, for
possible review.

I look forward to hearing from many of you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Robert Zappulla, Ph.D.
