Osmond-Smith, especialista na vanguarda musical italiana (e em Berio em 
particular), colaborador de Umberto Eco e curador musical da Bienal de 
Veneza, divulgada na lista da AMS hoje.

This has already been announced here, but here the 'official' notice:

It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of David 
Osmond-Smith. David joined the music department at the University of 
Sussex in the early 1970s and continued to serve it until his untimely 
death, most recently as research professor. Although he had been 
severely ill for many years, his death, when it did come, was 
unexpected: he was found in his armchair on the morning of 31 May, 
reportedly with a smile on his lips and without signs of a struggle. 
Those who had the privilege of knowing him can testify that he was an 
inspiring teacher, supportive supervisor and wonderful colleague. We 
will miss him sorely.
    The funeral will be held on 11 June at Downs Crematorium (Brighton) 
at 2,15pm, followed by a thanksgiving service at Rodmell Church at 
3,30pm and a wake at his home. The family have made it clear that 
everybody is welcome.
    The family prefer donations to the Sussex Beacon, an HIV clinic, 
http://www.sussexbeacon.org.uk/index.html, to flowers. Both can be sent 
to the funeral directors (checques payable to 'The Sussex Beacon'; 
flowers to arrive on Monday 11 June):

There will also be a memorial service at the university in autumn; 
details will be made public as and when appropriate. Finally, we are in
