 The Music Department is delighted to announce the launch of a new
scholarship for composers, generously supported by ACE Charitable
Foundation.

The aim of the Scholarship is to support and enable students studying
advanced composition and our hope is that it will contribute to the creation
of new music at the highest level.

The £10,000 award will contribute towards tuition fees and living costs for
one candidate to study with George Benjamin on the full-time one-year Master
of Music (MMus) degree programme.

The Scholarship is open to composers from all countries. Applicants must be
eligible for the MMus (see notes of guidance below).
 How to apply  Applicants for the 2008/9 scholarship should send scores and,
if possible, recordings of no more than two of their compositions plus a
covering letter and CV to the following address:

The deadline for applications is *9 May 2008*. Applicants will be notified
as soon as possible after this date of the judging panel's decision, which
will be final.
