[ANPPOM-L] NE/BAM Brazilian Composers' Competition

            We would like to inform your institution about the *NE/BAM
Brazilian Composers' Competition* and ask for your help to advertise it
among Brazilian composers that study or work with you.

            The NE/BAM Brazilian Composers' Competition is a collaboration
of BAMdialogue with the *Nieuw Ensemble *of Amsterdam. This competition aims
to bring the work of Brazilian composers to international attention and open
a dialogue with Amsterdam's musicians and audiences. The works selected by
the competition's international jury will be premiered by the Nieuw Ensemble
in September,2009, as part of the acclaimed contemporary music
festival *Gaudeamus
Music Week, 2009*. The selected composers will be invited to attend the
rehearsals and première of their composition.

            The Nieuw Ensemble is one of Europe's foremost new music
ensembles. It is internationally known for its collaboration with
international composers, including masters such as Brian Ferneyhough,
Elliott Carter, Tan Dun and Franco Donatoni.

*            *BAMdialogue promotes musical interaction between Brazil and
Amsterdam by creating and organizing musical events: concerts, lectures,
collaborations with ensembles and conservatories.
