CFP: The University of Ottawa Graduate Student Music Association is pleased
to
announce its 2013 annual Graduate Music Colloquium, to be held at Perez
Hall on
February 15th.

The colloquium will feature an address by keynote speaker Marie-Hélène
Benoit-Otis from the University of Montreal. Dr. Benoit-Otis’s research
centers
on a variety of topics including the works of Mozart and Wagner, French
music,
the theoretical writings of composers, and music propaganda. She will be
giving
a presentation on her current research about music propaganda during the
1941
Mozart celebrations in the Nazi Third Reich.

The aim of the conference is to provide a congenial environment in which
graduate students can present their research and form professional
connections.

Graduate students in areas including, but not limited to musicology, music
theory, piano pedagogy, performance practice, and ethnomusicology are
invited to
submit proposals for papers or lecture recitals. Submissions should include
an
abstract of a maximum length of 250 words in an attached file, in which
neither
the author’s name, nor any other identifying information should be
indicated.

All colloquium presentations will be of a maximum of 20 minutes and each
presentation will be followed by a 10 minute discussion period. Colloquium
presentations may be in either English or French.
