CALL FOR PAPERS

The University of Victoria’s peer-reviewed graduate student music journal,
Musicological Explorations (http://journals.uvic.ca/index.php/me),
is seeking essays for its fourteenth volume to be published in autumn of
2013.

The mandate of Musicological Explorations is to provide a forum for
scholarly work in musicology and related disciplines. Accordingly, the
Editorial Board welcomes unpublished articles from diverse areas of
scholarship related to the study of music.

Guidelines for Submissions:

Papers are to be submitted electronically, as attachments, in either .doc
or .docx format. The submissions are to be addressed to the editor of the
journal, Sasha Koerbler, and e-mailed to mjournal at uvic.ca by Friday,
February
15, 2013, midnight.

Papers are to be written in English, and not exceed 6000 words in length.
Footnotes and a bibliography are required, but not to be included in the
word count. Music examples, tables or illustrations may appear in the body
of the paper, or may follow as appendices.
For general matters of style and citation, please refer to the Chicago
Manual of Style, 15th ed., and to Kate L. Turabian’s A Manual for Writers
of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, 7th ed.

Submissions are reviewed anonymously by the Editorial Board. Therefore,
the author’s name should not appear in the submitted article, but rather
in the accompanying cover letter. The letter must include the author’s
name, position and the name of the University, as well as contact
information.

Receipt of submissions will be acknowledged via e-mail, and selections for
publication will be made by March 15, 2013.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to organize the text and examples
as publication layout requires, as well as to make other editorial
suggestions.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reprint all
copyrighted material.
