Os realizadores podem se inscrever até o dia 30 de abril. Neste ano, a
temática envolve trabalhos que explorem novas formas de interface e
interatividade.

O Festival de Arte Digital – FAD se consolidou ao longo de suas edições
como uma das maiores e mais importantes plataformas voltadas não apenas
para a fruição, mas também para promover a reflexão da arte digital
produzida em todo o mundo. Durante as 5 edições já realizadas passaram pelo
FAD 220 artistas, vindos de 20 países. O processo de seleção dos trabalhos,
para 2012, já está com inscrições abertas e os interessados tem até o dia
30 de abril para efetuarem a inscrição.

Desde sua última realização, em 2011, o FAD passou a definir um tema
específico para cada edição. Sendo assim, o tema escolhido para este ano é
Interfaces Relacionais. O festival busca artistas que estejam criando novas
formas de interface e interatividade, passando ou não por um computador. Os
trabalhos que estiverem dentro dessa temática terão prioridade na seleção,
porém também serão aceitas obras que estejam ligadas a outras áreas da arte
e tecnologia. Os artistas selecionados terão suas obras expostas durante
todo o mês de setembro, Museu Inimá de Paula, em Belo Horizonte. As
performances, oficinas e workshops e palestras que também passam por
seleção via Edital, serão realizadas neste mesmo período.

A sexta edição do FAD é realizada por meio da Lei Federal de Incentivo à
Cultura (Ministério da Cultura/Governo Federal), Lei Estadual de Incentivo
à Cultura (Secretaria do Estado da Cultura de Minas Gerais) e da Lei
Municipal de Incentivo à Cultura (Fundação Municipal de Cultura de Belo
Horizonte).

_Edital

Desde 05 de março, o FAD recebe inscrições de artistas do mundo inteiro que
queiram apresentar seus trabalhos (ou ministrar oficinas e workshops) no
Festival. Os interessados deverão acessar www.festivaldeartedigital.com.br,
ler o edital e preencher o formulário digital. A inscrição, que será aceita
somente através do site, é gratuita.

_Áreas
As propostas enviadas ao Edital do FAD devem estar incluídas em uma das
quatro áreas de atuação do Festival:

. FAD Performance A/V (shows audiovisuais)
Engloba projetos dedicados a apresentações artísticas unicamente autorais,
ao vivo, e que utilizem áudio e imagens de forma sincronizada. Os trabalhos
podem ser apresentados por artistas solo, duplas, grupos e/ou bandas
audiovisuais entre outros.

. FAD Galeria (instalações audiovisuais interativas)
Trabalhos que desenvolvam conteúdo artístico e que promovam interação com o
público. O Conceito e técnica são livres, mas preferencialmente devem
acompanhar o tema da edição, conforme disposto acima.

. FAD Laboratório (Oficinas, Workshops)
Oficinas e workshops de pequena duração, com temática livre. A ideia é
capacitar o público para utilização de novas ferramentas de áudio e vídeo,
criação de trabalhos de interação como software livres, apps (aplicativos),
entre outros, para uso profissional ou não.

. FAD Simpósio (Palestras e Ensaios).
São considerados o envio de propostas para palestras, apresentação de
estudos e ensaios científicos conceituais que abordem alguma relação com o
“fazer artístico”, podendo ser do aspecto teórico até a apresentação de
técnicas. O tema é livre

_FAD
Em um cenário em que o uso de novas ferramentas e tecnologias influencia a
busca, a pesquisa e a experimentação de novas linguagens artísticas, o FAD
desponta como um espaço de troca e apresentação de produções, nesse campo,
de artistas do Brasil e do mundo. Realizado desde 2007, em Belo Horizonte
(MG), o FAD é um festival de arte em mídias digitais, que tem o objetivo de
descobrir e apresentar ao público conteúdos artísticos desenvolvidos ou
processados, em alguma de suas etapas, por meio da utilização de
computadores, softwares, hardwares, celulares, filmadoras, câmeras
digitais, dispositivos eletrônicos e/ou digitais. Fugindo do lugar comum
das mostras e festivais do gênero, o FAD inova ao dialogar com as
manifestações da chamada arte pós-contemporânea. Dessa forma, o Festival,
que oferece uma programação gratuita, apoia e contribui para a produção, a
realização e a consolidação da arte digital no país.

Open Call FAD 2012 !!

Registrations are open until April 30th. In this edition, the theme
involves works that explore new forms of interface and interactivity.

Along its editions, the Digital Art Festival [Festival de Arte Digital –
FAD] has become one of the biggest and most important platforms, focused
not only on the enjoyment, but also on promoting the thinking on the
digital art produced around the world. During its five editions, 220
artists from 20 countries have passed by the festival. The selection
process for 2012 is open, and the artists interested must sign-up until
April 30th.

Since the last event, in 2011, a specific theme for each edition has been
set. The theme chosen to 2012 is Relational Interfaces [Interfaces
Relacionais]. This year, FAD looks for artists who are creating new forms
of interface and interactivity, which may or may not be done via computer.
Works that are within this theme will be given priority in the selection,
but works connected to other areas of art and technology will also be
accepted nevertheless. Selected artists will have their works exposed
throughout the month of September at the Inimá de Paula Museum [Museu Inimá
de Paula], in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Performances, workshops
and lectures, which will also be selected via decree, will be held on the
same period.

The 6th edition of FAD is going to be held through the Federal Cultural
Incentive Law – Rouanet Law [Brazilian Ministry of Culture/Brazilian
Government], the State Cultural Incentive Law [State Secretary of Culture
of Minas Gerais], and the Municipal Cultural Incentive Law [Municipal
Foundation of Culture of Belo Horizonte].

_Decree
Registration is open since March 5th to artists around the world interested
in presenting their work, or giving workshops and lectures at the festival.
The decree for the selection process is published at
www.festivaldeartedigital.com.br, and registration is free. Entries will be
accepted only via internet.

_Areas
Proposals submitted to FAD must be included in one of the four festival
areas:

. FAD Performance A/V (audiovisual shows)
Projects exclusively dedicated to authorial live performing arts, using
audio and images synchronized. Works may be presented by solo artists,
duos, groups and/or audiovisual bands, inter alia.

. FAD Gallery (interactive audiovisual installations)
They are works that develop artistic content, and promote interaction with
the public. Concept and technique are free, but should preferably follow
the theme of the issue, as stated before.

. FAD Laboratory (workshops)
Short duration workshops, free theme. The idea is to enable the public to
use new audio and video tools, and the creation of interaction works such
as free software, apps, and others, for professional use or not.

. FAD Symposium (lectures and essays)
Open to proposals of talks, presentations of scientific studies and
conceptual essays that address some relation to the artistic making, which
may be from the theoretical aspect to the presentation of techniques. The
theme is free.

_FAD
In a scenario where the use of new tools and technologies influences the
search, the research and the experimentation of new artistic languages, FAD
comes as a space for exchanging and presentation of productions of artists
from Brazil and the world on this area. FAD is an art festival in digital
media held in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil since 2007. FAD aims to
discover and present to the public artistic content developed or processed,
in some of its stages, with the use of computers, software, hardware,
phones, camcorders, digital cameras, and electronic and/or digital devices.
FAD innovates to dialogue with the manifestations of the post-modern art,
fleeing from the common place where the majority of shows and festivals of
this kind are. Thus, the festival, which offers a free programme, supports
and contributes to the production, the achievement and the consolidation of
digital art in Brazil.
