*Descrição*

The University of Nottingham (UN) is a public research university based in
Nottingham, England, the United Kingdom. It was founded as University
College Nottingham in 1881 and granted a Royal Charter in 1948. Nottingham
is organised into five constituent faculties, within which there are more
than 50 departments, institutes and research centres. Nottingham has around
34,000 students and 9,000 staff and had a total income of £520 million in
2012/13.

With a combined research income of over £300m, the University of Birmingham
and the University of Nottingham are two of the leading universities in UK
higher education and are working in partnership to support research
collaboration with Brazilian institutions and we are pleased to be able to
offer 20 full tuition fee scholarships for PhD students from Brazil.

  *Elegibilidade*

Candidates should:

   1. Be a citizen and permanent resident of Brazil at the time of
   application, and;
   2. Be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes and;
   3. Be not currently working or studying abroad and;
   4. Already hold an offer to start a full-time research degree programme,
   PhD or MPhil, at Nottingham in September or October 2014, any subject area.

The scholarships are for up to each of three years of a research programme
subject to satisfactory progress.
  *Forma de solicitação*

Application for admission to study at Nottingham must be received at least
six weeks before the scholarship closing date to allow time for our
Admissions office to process the application and confirm cadidate´s offer,
before they can apply for the scholarship. Any application for admission to
study submitted later than six weeks before the scholarship closing date is
not guaranteed to be processed in time.

Please note that candidates who wish to be considered for joint support by
Capes must also submit a separate application directly to Capes, please see

Successful candidates will be informed of awards in early June 2014.
