The University of Newcastle offers an extensive range of Postgraduate
Research Scholarships

to support research students. International candidates have five options:

   1. International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS);
   2. University of Newcastle International Postgraduate Research
   Scholarships (UNIPRS);
   3. University of Newcastle Research Scholarship Central (UNRSC);
   4. University of Newcastle Research Scholarship Central 50:50
   (UNRSC50:50);
   5. Provisional University of Newcastle Research Scholarship (PUNRS).

*Data Limite*

Round 1: March 31, 2016.
Round 2: September 15, 2016.
*Elegibilidade*

Domestic and international applicants are eligible.

*Note:* Successful international scholarship candidates usually also have a
master degree with strong research component and international peer
reviewed research publication or research experience.

*Benefícios*

   1. A$26,288.00 per year;
   2. A relocation allowance up to A$2,020.00;
   3. A thesis allowance up to A$500.00;
   4. A full tuition fee scholarship;
   5. Overseas student health cover.

*Duração da Bolsa*

PhD scholarships are for three years and Masters scholarships are for two
years.
*Requisitos*

Candidates must:

   1. Satisfy the English proficiency requirement (IELTS of at least 6.5);
   2. Have a current offer of admission into a research higher degree;
   3. Have completed at least four years of undergraduate study and have
   attained Honours Class 1 or equivalent and a high grade point average (GPA);
   4. Be no more than two full-time equivalent years into their PhD (or one
   year for Masters) at the latest outcome date for the round in which they
   are applying.

Before submitting the application, candidates must:

   which is a clear statement describing the proposed area of research;
   3. Find the right research degree:

      2. Research Masters Degrees

The application for admission must include:

   1. Copies of all academic transcripts;
   2. A research proposal;
   3. Evidence of extra academic attainments, for example publications;
   4. If required, certified evidence of meeting the English proficiency
   requirement.

The following documents to support the scholarship application must be
attached:

   1. Copies of research publications, exhibitions or conference papers;
   2. *Curriculum vitae*;
   3. Details of previous research experience;
   4. Any additional documents, for example evidence of the award of a
   University Medal.
