*Descrição*

The Government of China, through the Ministry of Education of China (MOE),
in cooperation with the Organization of American States (OAS) Department of
Human Development and Education, is offering partial Scholarships
<http://www.oas.org/en/scholarships/china.asp> to citizens of OAS member
states to pursue studies in China, in any field of study available to
international students, starting in September 2016.

The Categories of Applicants are Bachelor’s degree students, Master’s
degree students, Doctoral degree students, Chinese language students,
General scholars and Senior scholars.

*Elegibilidade*

Applicants must:

   1. Be non-chinese citizen;
   2. Be citizens or permanent residents of an OAS Member State
   <http://www.oas.org/en/member_states/default.asp>;
   3. Be in good health to successfully undertake and finish the program of
   study;
   4. Return to their countries of origin and reside there for at least two
   years upon completion of the program of study in China.

*Benefícios*

The scholarships cover registration, tuition, books and study materials,
accommodation, subsistence, medical insurance and local transportation for
the duration of the scholarship period in China.
*Prazo de Execução*

One to five years, based on category of applicants.
*Requisitos*

Education background and age limit:

   1. Undergraduate: applicants must have senior high school diploma with
   good academic performance and be under the age of 25;
   2. Graduate: applicants must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age
   of 35;
   3. Doctorate: applicants must have master’s degree and be under the age
   of 40;
   4. Chinese Language Study: applicants must have senior high school
   diploma and be under the age of 35;
   5. General scholar candidates must have completed at least two years of
   undergraduate studies and be under the age of 45, and may study all majors
   except the Chinese language;
   6. Senior scholar candidates must have master’s degree or above, or hold
   academic titles of associate professor or above, and be under the age of 50.

It is strongly recommended that all applicants have a good command of the
English language.

Upload a copy of the following documents where indicated in the OAS China
Scholarship Application Form:

   1. Highest diploma obtained (notarized photocopy): Prospective diploma
   winners must submit official proof of student status by their current
   school. Documents in languages other that Chinese or English must be
   attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;
   2. School Transcripts;
   3. A study or research plan in Chinese or in English (no less than 200
   words for undergraduates, no less than 500 words for scholars and 800 words
   for postgraduates). Detailed research plan (additional paper can be
   attached) is required for graduate studies applicants or scholars for
   advanced studies;
   4. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or
   English by professors or associate professors or current or previous
   employer. Applicants who apply while currently pursuing studies in China
   for master or doctoral degree studies must submit the Admission Notice or
   Invitation Letter issued by the targeted university;
   5. Applicants for music programs are requested to submit one CD
   recording of the applicants’ own work. Applicants for fine arts programs
   must submit one CD recording of the applicants’ own work (including two
   sketches, two color paintings and two other works);
   6. Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the legal documents of
   their legal guardians in China;
   7. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
   <http://bit.ly/1nssZVZ> (issued by Chinese quarantine authority and only
   for those whose period of studies in China lasts up to six months) filled
   in English.

*Observações*

Chinese higher education institutions generally use Chinese as
instructional language. Applicants with no command of Chinese language are
required to take Chinese language courses (sponsored by the scholarship)
for one-two years before beginning their main course of study.

Some courses set for general scholars, senior scholars and postgraduate
students can be conducted in English. Please refer to the Directory of
Chinese Higher Education Institutions.
