*Grammy Foundation Grant Program: Archiving and Preservation Projects -
Planning, Assessment and/or Consultation*

*Descrição*

to the still unimagined musical breakthroughs of the future generations
of the music professionals.

categories:
1. Preservation Implementation
<https://www.financiar.org.br/programa.asp?pro_codigo=3052>.
2. Planning, Assessment and/or Consultation.

The GRAMMY Foundation Planning Grants Fund Activities Connected With
Project Planning, Including:
1. Assessing, prioritizing and stabilizing a collection and its materials.
2. Consultation fees for qualified archivists, historians and/or
copyright specialists.
3. Meetings with advisors and/or program partners involved in the project.
4. Travel to sites and to other resources and partners.
5. Temporary relocation to climate controlled storage.
6. General preparation required for archiving and preserving sound
collections.

The goal of a planning grant is to fund the assessment and preparation
of recorded sound collections to be archived and preserved. Applicants
must describe how they will draw on the knowledge and expertise of their
staff and/or outside consultants whose preservation skills are related
to the type of collection and nature of activities that are the focus of
the project.

*Data Limite*

Applications for the GRAMMY Foundation Grant Program must arrive in the
GRAMMY Foundation office no later than October 1, 2008. Grants submitted
for this cycle will be notified in March 2009.

*Elegibilidade*

Planning Grants are available to help individuals and small to mid-sized
organizations enhance their ability to preserve their collections that
embody the recorded sound heritage of the Americas.

*Valor Financiado*

Planning grant amounts range from USD $5,000 - $10,000.

*Critérios de Seleção*

Because the overall goal of the GRAMMY Foundation's Archiving and
Preservation project is long-term viability of recorded collections,
applications should select archival consultants who can provide guidance
and plans that include long-term management and storage needs for the
collection as part of the project.

Projects that are designed to preserve existing
recordings/documents/artifacts that are imperiled will receive funding
priority.

Archiving note:
As there is no permanent digital archiving medium, the committee
requires that you seek the advice of a sound engineer knowledgeable in
current archiving standards and technology. A sustainable plan for the
long-term maintenance and playback of your collection should also be
considered in your planning process.

Access and dissemination: Public access to the archived collection is a
major consideration of his grant selection committee. Collections that
have a broad public accessibility will given priority over projects that
have limited access. Funding requests for projects leading only to
commercial releases will rarely be considered.
