Rethinking Liveness: Music, Performance and Media Technology

An international and interdisciplinary symposium devoted to a critical exploration of 'liveness' in music and in the performing arts more widely. Speakers (including researchers in the fields of media studies, performance theory, musicology and ethnomusicology) will focus on the impact of recent developments in media technology on the production and experience of the live. Rethinking Liveness will conclude with a keynote presentation by Rebecca Schneider, Chair of Theatre Arts and Performance Studies at Brown University.
