Join us in the picturesque Mediterranean seaside town of Zadar, Croatia, in
June for five days of knowledge sharing, discussion and inspiration.

International conference LIDA 2016 (Libraries In the Digital Age),
co-organized by University of Zadar and Osijek, Croatia & Rutgers
University, USA, will be held on 13-17 June, 2016 at the one of oldest
university in Europe. Zadar, voted as the European best destination in

is a city of exceptional history and rich cultural heritage. It is quiet
and safe city where you can stroll along the waterfront day or night and
hear the amazing sound of the "sea organ" and enjoy "the most beautiful
sunset in the world", as reported by Alfred Hitchcock. While in Zadar you
can treat yourself to a number of exciting excursions to nearby national

The Conference will be centered around two main themes: Digital Curation
and Preservation & Use Studies, Education and Training for Digital Library
Collections. The speaker programme will bring together over 70
international library and information professionals to share their
experiences. Presentations, workshops, panels and demonstrations will be
given on subjects as varied as open source digital repositories, role of
data curators, data reuse, digital curation of personal digital data,
collaborative annotation systems, linked data, copyright and media ethics,
imagetic conceptual methodology, information literacy and information
seeking, education for digital libraries, international mobility in LIS etc.

Conference's Guest of honor is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus Tefko
Saracevic (Rutgers University, USA), one of the most cited authors in the
field of information science.

Among conference's keynote speakers are Lynn Silipigni Connaway, a senior
research scientist at OCLC Research and the President-Elect 2016 for the
Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), and Tatjana
Aparac-Jelušić (Croatia), the first recipient of the Thompson/ISI
Outstanding Teacher of Information Science 2006 outside of the USA.
