Prezados colegas,
Com muita satisfação, anunciamos o evento casado, resultado de convênio
interinstitucional entre a Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, a
Universidade das Artes-Berlim e o Instituto Ibero-Americano de Berlim,
firmado em 2014, e que teve como primeiro resultado a realização do evento
casado VI SIMPÓSIO INTERNACIONAL DE MUSICOLOGIA DA UFRJ & COLÓQUIO
INTERNACIONAL DO INSTITUTO IBERO-AMERICANO DE BERLIM (IAI) / UNIVERSIDADE
DAS ARTES DE BERLIM (UdK) “Trânsitos Culturais: Música entre América Latina
e Europa”, de 10 a 15 de agosto de 2015, pelo qual a instituição brasileira
hospedou o evento alemão, e agora terá realizada sua contrapartida, pela
qual as instituições alemãs hospedarão o evento brasileiro.

*II International Conference IAI-UdK & VIII UFRJ International Symposium of
Musicology*

Date: 5 to 7 April 2017
Venue: Ibero-American Institute, Berlin

The Ibero-American Institute Berlin (IAI) and the University of the Arts
Berlin (Universität der Künste: UdK) in cooperation with the Federal
University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) present the international conference
Trayectorias / Cultural Exchanges: Music between Latin America and Europe
1945–1970.
The conference will focus on the developments of art music in the 1950s and
1960s. The topic was first discussed by scholars during the I IAI / UdK
International Colloquium hosted by the VI UFRJ International Symposium of
Musicology “Cultural Exchanges: Music Between Latin America and Europe”,
held in Rio de Janeiro, August 2015. The initiated exchange of current
research findings and issues will be continued and broadened in Berlin in
April 2017. Paper presentations and posters will focus on the transfer and
reciprocal appropriation of ideas, repertories, aesthetics, styles, and
techniques, musical practices and theoretical reflection in musicology. The
symposium will investigate relevant travels either for guest performances
or studies, exile as well as other temporary or long-lasting migration.
Papers and posters will also consider society and ideology as well as
government politics, sponsoring and institutional strategies will also be
considered. The conference’s organizers welcome participants from
transdisciplinary studies, visual arts, theatre, literature, philosophy,
history, sociology and cultural anthropology that are connected with music
or musicology.

Simultaneously, there will be held the VIII UFRJ International Symposium of
Musicology.
